Ekdala Design is a Linköping (Sweden) based design studio with the goal of bringing industrial scandinavian- inspired design to life through thoughtfully crafted products and tailored design services.
Whether it's a unique piece of city furniture, bespoke lighting solutions or architectural building blocks; Ekdala’s products are made to seamlessly fit into modern interiors and urban environments, adding a touch of Nordic charm.
The design is focusing on crafting products that embody the essence of an industrial Scandinavian style - Clean lines, minimalistic aesthetics and a strong connection to materials.

For us, sustainability is not a trend – it's a fundamental mindset that informs everything we do. Our furniture for urban and park environments is created with care for both people and the planet. We select durable and recyclable materials such as stainless steel and wood from sustainable sources. Combined with timeless, functional design, this ensures products with long lifespans and minimal maintenance needs.
All manufacturing takes place in Sweden, in small volumes and in close collaboration with local craftsmen. Each piece is assembled by hand with a focus on precision and quality. This not only reduces transport distances and lowers climate impact, but also guarantees good working conditions and a high level of craftsmanship in every detail.
We view sustainability as a holistic responsibility – from material choices and production methods to how our furniture contributes to safe, inclusive, and beautiful public spaces. Gunnar Lödige Founder and Designer
Designer and founder Gunnar Lödige has always been fueled by a fascination with how things work, how they are made and how they can be improved and simplified at the same time.
With a masters degree from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) he brings a background in mechanical engineering with focus on integrated product development and industrial design.
After two decades of working as an engineer and many years of running his own company he decided to channel his passion and experience into a new venture:
Creating unique design pieces that blend form and function seamlessly.
In this new chapter, his goal is to create designs that inspire and elevate the everyday, bringing innovation, craftsmanship, and a touch of Nordic charm into the spaces we inhabit.
